Dr James Giordano is Professor Emeritus of Neurology, Biochemistry, and Ethics at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington DC. His 40+ year career has focused upon those ways that the techniques and tools of brain science can be used to advance medical diagnosis and care, optimize human performance, and be weaponized for disruptive or destructive effect. He has served as a senior scientific advisor to the Pentagon, DARPA, the US Department of Health and Human Services, NATO, and the World Health Organization. The author of over 375 publications, 10 books and 50 government reports, he is a Fellow of the Hastings Center for Ethics; the European Academy of Science and Arts; the Royal Society of Medicine; and the Royal Academy of Public Health. He currently serves as Head of the Center for Strategic Deterrence and Study of Weapons of Mass Destruction of the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University, Washington DC.
