Corrections

Accuracy is the work. When an episode or reporting piece contains an error of fact, we correct it on the record.

What triggers a correction

Any verifiable error of fact, attribution, or context that materially affects how a reader or listener understands the reporting. Spelling and minor stylistic edits do not require a published correction; substantive errors do.

How to flag one

Email with the episode or piece, the specific statement, and the source that establishes the correct fact. We aim to acknowledge corrections requests within 72 hours.

How corrections appear

Corrections are appended to the original episode page or reporting piece in a dated note at the top of the body, describing what was originally stated and what the correct fact is. We do not silently edit substantive errors out of the record.

Severity

Major errors, those that change the central finding of a piece or misattribute a quoted statement, are also disclosed in the next episode's introduction. Minor errors are noted on the page only.
