Eric Mitchell was a hard UFO / UAP skeptic from rural Arkansas who thought people who believed in alien abduction were "absolutely insane." Then, on a night in 2013, he woke standing outside his front door staring at a 40-foot orange sphere. What he says happened next is the part Washington isn't built to hear.
Mitchell, the subject of the 2025 documentary "Experiencer," says the encounter left him struck by an energy beam, living with savant syndrome, and carrying alien implants. But his most serious claim isn't about aliens at all. It's about his own government: unmarked Black Hawk helicopters over his home, a man photographing his family from a nearby hotel, and what he describes as a gun camera aimed at his children. In his words: "First you have an alien abduction. Then you have an abduction at the hand of humans."
In this episode, Matt Ford does what none of Eric's previous interviewers would: takes the human surveillance story seriously and asks him to walk through it piece by piece. We get into the encounter, the savant syndrome, the implants Dr. Roger Leir was set to remove, the radiation and the physical toll, the investigators who worked his case, and the surveillance campaign at the heart of the film. It lands directly on the live fight in Congress over UAP disclosure, whistleblower protections, and whether "physically affected citizens" even exist.
This is not a "do you believe in aliens" conversation. It's a question about accountability: a U.S. citizen says the government surveilled and intimidated his family, and no institution will look at it.
